Belthangady: Agonised over ailing wife’s death, husband ends life

 Belthangady, April 20, 2014 : In a tragic incident, a young man ended his  life by hanging himself within hours after completing the last rites of his ailing wife on April 19, Saturday at Sanjayanagar in Belthangady.

The deceased have been identified as Srinath Shetty (30) and his wife Vinutha(26). The young woman who was ill and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore had died on April 18, Friday after she suffered a heart attack following low blood pressure.

Srinath had completed the last rites of his wife and had later chosen the drastic step of ending his life. The family came to know of his suicide only in the morning. The couple is survived by two sons aged six and two.

Belthangady police are investigating the case.
