Belthangady: ACB sleuths trap Village Accountant, assistant while accepting bribe

Belthangady, May 4, 2019: The Village Accountant of Kadirudyavar-Mittabagilu and his assistant were trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on May 4, Saturday morning while they were accepting bribe in the Belthangady Taluk Office.  Those trapped are Manjunath and his assistant Ramesh Naik. 

The operation followed a complaint by Mittabagilu’s social worker Pradeep Gowda. The duo had allegedly demanded Rs 5,000 bribe from  Pradeep for name change in the RTC. Accordingly Ramesh Naik had  secured Rs 2,000 from Pradeep on Friday. On Saturday, he handed over Rs 3,000 to the Village Accountant as per the instructions of the ACB sleuths, following which the  latter was trapped.
