Mangaluru, Oct 17, 2018 : All the 16 persons who were named accused in the Bejai Raja murder case have been acquitted by the first Additional Sessions Court on October 16, Tuesday.
The murder had taken place at Falnir on December 1, 2012. Of the 16 accused three had died during the trial period. There were a total of 30 witnesses in the case.
The accused were acquitted on the grounds that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against them.
Two more accused in the case were yet to be arrested. The slain Bejai Raja who was named an accused in the Panduranga Pai alias Pandu Pai murder case was later acquitted by the court.
