Beat diabetes Mobile app by Doctors of KSHEMA is Trending now in Top charts

Mangaluru, May 10, 2016: A team of Doctors Dr Sharon Baisil, Dr Prince Alex, Dr Shameena AU, Dr Vidya R and Dr Gunjan Mahaur who are post graduates in the Department of Community Medicine from KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) Mangalore have launched a new android app about prevention and control of Diabetes which has become one of the most downloaded medical app from India in the recent past.

This app features 6 sections for covering the different aspects of Diabetes control- 20 good and bad foods for Diabetics based on Glycemic Index, Diabetic Diet plans, tips and exercises for reducing the Insulin Resistance, tips to avoid the complications & advices on Diabetic foot and eye care. Additionally, it features a live blog, where latest news about Diabetes are added every week. There is an option for submitting and sharing user experiences as well.


Beat Diabetes app was released on World Health Day (April 7) BY Prof.M.Shantharam Shetty Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University and Dr.B.Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean K.S.Hegde Medical Academy.  This app is available for free download from Play Store. It received 10,600 download during its first week of launch and thus got featured by Google as the Top Medical app in India. It got appreciated by various international and regional organizations like the International Diabetic Federation (IDF) and National Aboriginal Diabetic Association(NADA) in Canada.
