Mangaluru, July 16 2018: State Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader has said that the allegations of irregularities in Indira Canteen project were baseless and politically motivated.
He was referring to allegations of BJP MLA Ramdas that there were irregularities to the tune of Rs 50 crore in Indira Canteen Project. Speaking to reporters here on July 16, Monday, Khader said the BJP MLA’s allegation aimed at misleading the public on the popular scheme of the previous government.
Khader said Indira Canteen Project was chalked out at an estimated cost of Rs 211.24 crores. So far Rs 113.78 crores has been spent on the project. Of the total 136 canteens, 72 are already operational while works regarding the rest are in progress, Khader stated.
