The move has been made after police suspected Santosh’s involvement in the  burglary at the Mahakali Temple at Kharvikere in the town.

Earlier, the Kundapur circle inspector Diwaker had moved the court seeking custody of Santosh Das when the latter was produced before the court on June 2, Monday.

It is learnt, he will be in police custody for two days. Sources say Santosh was not only involved in the Mahakali Temple burglary case of 2010 but also a few other cases.

Here it is worth mentioning that a ‘C’ report was filed in the court in 2011 regarding the case which remained unsolved.
