Mumbai, Sep 19, 2015: Bantwal origin girl Sonica Baptist, a student of the Miami Ad School, Mumbai along with two other advertising students of the institute has been nominated for the prestigious Clio Awards considered as one of the highest honours in the field of advertising. The Award presentation ceremony will be held in New York in September end.
Sonica, along with Rushad Patel and Himanish Ashar will compete with entries from participants from around the globe to win the Award under the Student Innovative Category of product/service. Their campaign is called ‘Watch for Nepal’ a public service message calling for aid for the victims of the devastating Nepal earthquake. By working around world’s second largest video search engine You Tube’s ‘skip ad’ button they decided to make the experience of watching a complete ad more rewarding. The campaign was devised in such away that along with ‘skip ad’ button there was another button saying ‘watch to donate.’ By clicking that button the user can donate $0.01 through the brand to Nepal or any other place affected by natural disaster.
The three talented youngsters who are elated upon nomination for the award hope to work with You Tube and other brands of the world to make their idea a reality. The Award presentation ceremony will be held in New York in September end.
