Bantwal cops searching for man wanted in father-in-law murder case

Bantwal, Dec 20, 2014:  A man wanted in the case of  brutal murder of his father-in-law  at Dasakody village about a month ago, is absconding since then. The Bantwal Police who have launched a dragnet to arrest him have also  asked anyone knowing his whereabouts to inform them.

The accused is Kasim (32) hailing from Adkarpadpu-Badiyar, while the victim is Yaqub (55) from Dasakody Kallaje in Kadeshwalya village.  The incident had taken place during the wee hours of November 12 when Kasim  who saw his father-in-law sleeping on the open verandah had dropped a grinding stone on his head and killed him.

It is believed that Kasim had  come to kill his  wife Jameela with whom he had a strained relationship. Luckily, Jameela had gone to a  close relative’s house that night.

Other members of the family who heard the sound had seen a man running way and suspected him to be Kasim based on his physique.

It is gathered that Jameela  had deserted her husband and was staying with her parents fed up with frequent quarrels with him.
