If the marriage  of one of the girls Nalini (24) was held at a temple at Nooji on January 24, Saturday, the  marriage of Nalini’s sister was held at BC Road on January 26, Monday.

The young women are the daughters of Krishna Naik of Nooji. If  the eldest daughter of Naik was already married, his second daughter Nalini  had reportedly fallen in love with Gopal of Kulalu near Salettur while his youngest daughter  Rajani (20) was in love with Ashoka of Manolithota in Bolanthur. It is learnt Ashok and Gopal, both labourers  were friends but the sisters  were unaware of the same. Sources said the young men cleverly lured the girls into their trap with a promise of marriage and then developed physical relationship  eventually turning them pregnant.

It is learnt Rajani had given birth to a baby boy at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru recently, but chose to abandon her new-born on the roadside near Salettur. When villagers came to know that it was Rajani’s daughter, they spoke to her when she revealed  her relationship with Gopal and her sister Rajani’s affair with Ashoka.

Accordingly the locals with the help of police managed to trace the two youth and convince them to marry the young women.
