Bantwal Traffic Police widens Bengaluru-Mangaluru Highway at Melkar

Mangaluru, December 17, 2015: To ease the traffic bottle neck at Melkar junction between BC Road and Kalladka all roadside petty shops removed and the highway was widened using earthmovers.

This was undertaken by neither National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) or by Local Urban body Bantwal Municipality. The newly established Bantwala Traffic Police has found it necessary to remove the traffic bottle neck and mustered the courage to widen in the public interest putting local administration to shame.

With the support of Superintendent of Police Dr.Sharanappa, Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Chandrashekariah has personally supervised the work of removing petty shops and tables of flower vendors on both national highway and road passing towards Konaje and widened the both the sides of the highway.

Without any murmur public cooperated with the Good Samaritan police officer for clearing the roadside. They took more than five days to clear the work.

A good part of work was the removal of garbage dumping under the hoarding put up Information and Public Relation Department of the state. The Police also removed Information department’s hoarding and two buses waiting shelter erected by Sunni Student Federation (SSF).

Earlier, police also cleared BC Road Circle where roads from four sides meet and temporally asphalted sides of the road to avoid any traffic snarl due to the ill maintained circle by NHAI.

Surprisingly, both traditional and social media kept capacious silent on this developing issue.
