Bantwal:Teenager meets watery grave in pond

Bantwal, May 04, 2015 : A fun swim in a pond at Marakkini, Adyanadka proved tragic for  14 year old Pawan Raj on May 3, Sunday.

 

The deceased was the son of Ayyappa Salian of Marakkini. He had been to the pond located in a private property to swim along with his friends  Sunil (14) and Prajwal(13). It has been gathered that they had chosen to swim in the pond without the permission of the owner and also without knowing the depth of the pond.

When the property owner came to know that a boy was drowning, he immediately informed the fire service and the police. Though they rushed to the spot, Pawan could not be saved.

Sunil and Prajwal who managed to swim ashore are said to be   tenth and eighth standard students respectively.
