Bantwal : Rider dies as tanker rams into bike near Melkar

Bantwal, Oct 30, 2018: A bike rider  lost his life  when a tanker rammed into his two-wheeler  at Bolangady near Melkar on October 29, Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Hasan Shahiq (28). He hailed from Kelinja in Vittal.  Hasan who worked in a burqa shop in Moodbidri was on way home as usual when tragedy struck. He used to travel by bus from Moodbidri to BC Road and from there to his residence by his two-wheeler.

Hasan who was critically injured in the mishap though was immediately rushed to the Bantwal Government Hospital, he breathed his last on way. The tanker driver who escaped soon after the mishap was taken into custody at Mittur later.
