Bantwal: Man attacked by gang of 11 assailants

Bantwal, Dec 9,2015 : A  person hailing from Maripalla near here was   attacked by a gang of 11 assailants  at the Maripalla Junction on December 9, Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Haneef alias Mada Haneef (38). The incident took place  when Haneef was  heading towards his shop  located near Maripalla junction.

The assailants who arrived by an Alto car and bikes   assaulted Haneef with lethal weapons.

Haneef who sustained serious injuries in the attack, has been hospitalised. It has been gathered that he  was an accused in the case of autorickshaw driver Rifai murder case.  The suspicion is that the Jabbar gang was behind the attack.

Senior police officials  including DCP Shantharaju, ASP Vincent Shanthakumar,  Bantwal Circle Inspector Belliyappa and others  visited the spot.

Further investigations are in progress.
