Speaking to media men present on the occasion, District Minister Rai said the government was leaving no stone unturned in launching a crackdown on the communal elements which were trying to disturb peace in the district. Assuring stern action against the culprits in the Harish  murder  case, he also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the family of Harish on behalf of  the state government.

On the other hand, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel blamed the Congress for the disturbances and alleged that the  Siddaramaiah government has played with the sentiments of the people by celebrating Tipu Jayanthi.

It has been learnt that  Hindu organisations have decided to provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Harish.

Sources have revealed that the assailants had waylaid  Harish who had been to a nearby shop to bring milk along with his friend Samivullah on November 12.  It  has been gathered that they spared Samivullah as they came to know that he was a Muslim when he  screamed ’Allah.’
