Bantwal: Jewelry found on road, returned to rightful owner

Bantwal, Nov 15, 2016: A pedestrian who found packet lying on roadside returned to rightful owner with the help of Bantwal police recently.

Hameed of Balthila on his way found a plastic cover with a paper wrapped inside. When he opened it he found a jewellery and was confused about how to return it. He immediately informed to Balthila grama panchayat member Shivakumar, they both reached the police station, handed the jewelry and requested to trace the rightful owner.


Simultaneously Narasimhsa prabhu who had lost the jewelry weighing 380 grams registered complaint at same station on November 13. It was confirmed that the jewelry belonged to him.


In the presence of Bantwal DySP Ravish C R, Bantwal town police inspector Nandakumar and senior police officials handed it over to Narsimha prabhu. Prabhu was grateful to Hameed .The honesty of both was appreciated.
