Bantwal : Imposter booked for posing as cameraman of pvt news channel

Bantwal, Oct 04, 2019:  Bantwal Police have registered a case against a person named Ashok of Siddakatte for  trying to cheat an educational institution after posing himself as the cameraman of a private television  news channel.

It is learnt he had managed to get a cheque for Rs 50,000 from the institution after threatening  to spread   negative news regarding the institution.

Later, the institution authorities had contacted the TV channel when it came to light that he was not an employee there. The person was immediately contacted over phone when he  confessed his crime and  returned the cheque with a request against lodging police complaint.

However the correspondent of the institution has lodged a complaint following which a case  has been registered.
