Bantwal: Holiday fun turns tragic; 2 drown in Netravathi

Bantwal, Jan 28, 2018: A holiday fun for a group of nine friends turned tragic when two  of them drowned in the Netravathi river at Thumbay on January 28, Sunday.

The two who met a watery grave have been identified as Sawad (30), son of Sulaiman from Thumbay and Ramlan  from Maripalla. He was the son of Ibrahim. The body of one of the two has been retrieved while search is underway for the other man who is missing.

The friends had ventured into swimming when the two were washed away due to strong currents.

Bantwal Rural Police are at the spot and are trying to retrieve the body of the other person who drowned.
