Bantwal: GP member, wife grievously assaulted

Bantwal, Nov 29, 2019:   A gang of unidentified assailants which barged into the residence of a Gram Panchayat member at Meramajalu during the wee hours of  Friday, have grievously assaulted the GP member and his wife.

 

The injured Yogish Prabhu and his wife Shobha have been hospitalised. Both have suffered serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in  Mangaluru. Prabhu is a Congress backed member of the Panchayat.

It is said the incident occurred at around 4 am. Somebody had knocked at the door and as soon as Prabhu opened the door, a gang of three had barged in and  attacked him and his wife with machetes.

Senior police officials have visited the spot. The motive behind the attack is not known.
