Bantwal: GP member, wife, 2 children found dead in their house at Manchi

Bantwal, September 23, 2015: A Gram Panchayat Member was found dead along with his wife and two children in their house at Manchi near Ira on September 23, Wednesday.

The Panchayat Member who chose this extreme step has been identified as Padmanabha Nayak (45). It is suspected that he killed his wife and two children before ending his life. The shocking incident came to light after a neighbour happened to visit Padmanabha’s house on Wednesday morning.

 

Though the reason that might have driven Padmanabha to the extreme step is not clear. It is said he had  availed treatment for some mental ailment a few months ago and had recovered.

The GP Member is learnt to have left behind a death note  stating he himself  was responsible for the drastic step. The note also mentions about insurance amount which he has left behind for his mother and brother.

Bantwal Rural Police are conducting the investigations.
