Bantwal, May 1, 2015: State Revenue Minister Srinivas Prasad laid the foundation stone for the Mini Vidhana Saudha at the Taluk Office premises here on April 30, Thursday. The project is estimated to cost Rs 10 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the construction of the Mini Vidhana Saudha will go a long way in bringing all government departments under one roof for the convenience of the members of the general public. The government is laying emphasis on having Mini Vidhana Saudhas in all taluk headquarters, he informed.
The Minister also stated that the government has approved the project of constructing a full-fledged stadium in Bantwal. He assured to hold talks with the Chief Minister to sanction grants for the project.
The function was presided over by DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai. In his address, Rai promised to take up the construction works of the Ambedkar Bhavan at the earliest and added that the project faced a hindrance for want of land.
AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner Vasanthi, President of Bantwal TMC, Yasmin, TMC Vice President, Pius Rodrigues, Town Planning Authority President Kantharaj, PWD Superintendent Engineer, Ida Suresh, TP Standing Committee President and others were present.
