Bantwal: DK police set example and cycle for health

Bantwal, March 20, 2016:  District Superintendent of Police Dr S D Sharanappa is consistently seen as a police official who pays a lot of importance to health and well-being of  his police staff.

He has introduced several health and fitness programmes and schemes his personnel, the latest is a morning cycling expedition - ’Cycling for Health’.  The SP along with at least 50 strong contingent cycled from Mani to Puttur.

A group of more than 50 policemen led by the SP himself started off cycling from Mani at 7 am and reached Puttur at 7.45 am. This was followed by breakfast at Puttur Shivaram Karanth Bal Bhavan.

Later speaking to media, the SP said that Yoga, exercises and various other fitness methods are being done at various police stations across the district. Recently the policemen had even undergone a session of aerobics at TMA Pai Convention Centre.

Puttur ASP Hrishyanth, Additional Commissioner Vincent Shanthakumar, Bantwal incharge ASP Bhaskar Rai among others were present.
