Bantwal, Oct 22, 2017: The much awaited inaugural of several developmental projects worth Rs 148.29 crores in Bantwal assembly constituency was held on October 22, Sunday with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah declaring open the projects. The Mini Vidhana Saudha at Bantwal has been constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. The foundation for projects costing Rs 104.21 crores was also laid by the Chief Minister.
The CM inaugurated an Inspection Bungalow built at a cost of Rs 3 crore, a 100-bed hospital worth Rs 6.15 crore and a KSRTC bus stand constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore apart from MESCOM building, a tree park and RTO office.
He laid the foundation stones for projects worth Rs 104.21 crore, which icludes construction of Kavishishya Panje Mangesh Rao auditorium, Kadeshivalaya - Ajilamogaru Harmony Bridge, multi-village drinking water project and three other development works.
There was a heavy rush of Congress workers during the Chief Minister’s visit. In a rather disappointing development, the main doors of the Mini Vidhana Saudha also broke unable to bear the pressure of the huge crowd with people vying with each other to enter the building.
If Udupi District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj remained in his car itself, MLAs Shakuntala Shetty and JR Lobo also could not enter.
