Bantwal: BJP kicks off Padayatra against Cong govt

Bantwal, Jan 15, 2014: District BJP President Pratapsimha Nayak flagged  off a Padayatra organised by the BJP on January 14, Tuesday, at the Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple premises at Polali. The Padayatra aims at sensitizing the rural masses on the failures of the Union as well as the state government.

The District BJP Chief  handed over the party flag to Rajesh Nayak, a party leader who is heading the Padayatra team.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP who was present on the occasion, lashed out at the Congress government for showering praises only on the Gandhi family and neglecting other great freedom fighters like Sardar Patel.

He was also critical of the Siddaramaiah government for inducting tainted leaders like DK Shivakumar and Roshan Baig into the cabinet.

Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Yogish Bhat, former MLA, Kota Srinivas Poojari, former minister, Padmanabha Kottari, former district BJP President, Sulochana Bhat, State Vice President of the Party and several other office bearers were present.

An iron part of a plough was handed over to MP Nain Kumar Kateel and leader Dr Bharath Shetty as a contribution towards the 182 feet tall statue of Sardar Patel in Gujarat. The donation was made by a farmer from Polali.
