The deceased is Rifayi (25) who was a resident of Maripalla. He is suspected to have been murdered on August 9, Saturday night. Sources reveal that Rifayi was killed to avenge the murder of Naushad (27)  on June 21 near a mosque at Maripalla. Incidentally, Rifayi is said to be the brother of one of the accused in the Naushad killing case.

It has been gathered that Rifayi was last seen on Saturday evening at around 7 pm,  when three men had hired Rifayi’s autorickshaw to go to Polali.  As he went missing mysteriously, the fellow auto men as well as his family tried to call his cell phone but in vain as it was switched off. Finally a case of missing was filed in Bantwal Rural Police Station.

The body was spotted on Sunday morning by some locals and Bantwal rural police were immediately intimated. A dog squad and  finger print experts have been rushed to the spot.  Police are now trying to gather information as to who were the three men who hired the autorickshaw of Rifayi.

Here it is worth mentioning that police had arrested six persons in the case of murder of Naushad who was a history sheeter.
