Bantwal: ACB traps village accountant red-handed

ACB raid in BantwalBantwal, May 19. 2016: The Village Accountant of Punacha has been taken into custody by the District Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)  sleuths on May 19, Thursday. It is learnt, he had demanded bribe for transfer of land records. This is the first raid by ACB in the district.

The accused is Ranjith. The complainant Nagaraj Bhat  who had purchased  land at Kambalimoole  had  applied for change of account and had paid Rs 500. However, after several requests, the village accountant had demanded Rs 6000 as bribe following which Bhat had lodged a complaint with the ACB.

The Bureau  led by  ACB Inspector Yogish Kumar and his team caught the village accountant red handed while he was receiving the bribe.

ACB DySP Sudheer Hegde, Inspector Dinaker Shetty, Head constable Rakesh, Radhakrishna and Umesh participated in the operation.
