Banners up against Yettinahole project

Mangaluru, Nov 3, 2015 : According to Sahyadri Sanchaya, a registered body of green activists, they have put up about 250 banners in different parts of Dakshina Kannada and parts of Hassan district to pressure the government to “save the Nethravati” and stop the Yettinahole project.

The banners have come up on private land along the Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway between Sakleshpur and Mangaluru. 


In addition, they have been displayed at Puttur, Mundaje, Charmadi, Belthangady, Shishila, Arasinamakki and Kokkada. They have also been displayed along Gundia-Kukke Subrahmanya Road.


A member of the sanchaya said that 50 more banners are ready and they would be displayed in different places shortly.


The activists have plans to put up 200 more banners mainly in the city and surrounding areas on private properties to gain more support for  the agitation. The banners have been put up in the past one month. Now people in Yettinahole project area are asking for banners to display it to register their protest against the project.
