Baliga murder case : Arrested Srikanth remanded to 5 days police custody

Mangaluru, June 20, 2016: Srikanth (42) from Kavoor, the sixth person to be arrested in the   RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case  has been produced before the magistrate  and remanded to police custody for five days. Baliga was hacked to death near his residence at Kodialbail on March 21.

Srikant Srikanth was arrested in Mulki by a police team headed by inspector Ravish Nayak.   Apart from Srikanth, four others namely Vineeth Poojary, Nitish Devadiga Shailesh, Shiva alias Shivaprasad are already behind bars in this case.  Another person K Manjunath Shenoy, a photographer who was arrested for abetting the accused,  is presently out on bail.

Meanwhile, police  are  leaving no stone unturned in zeroing in on the prime suspect in the case, Yuva Brigade Founder Naresh Shenoy.


Srikanth, the latest person to be arrested  has been accused of mediating  between  Shenoy and the  three other accused who were reportedly hired to eliminate Baliga.
