It may be recalled that the erstwhile Namo Brigade founder Naresh Shenoy had been absconding for three months since the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga. He was arrested by the city police on Sunday, June 26 and was produced before the court on Monday, June 27. The court had then granted him three days police custody and later the custody was extended to two more days that ended today, July 02.

According to Prof. Narendra Nayak, who has been leading the ‘Justice for Baliga’ campaign, the defence lawyers have produced records that Naresh Shenoy has been suffering from kidney problems since 2014 and that he has been getting treatment at a nursing home in Mangalore. However the court had refused to grand hospitalization.
