Bakrid holiday in DK and Udupi to differ

Mangaluru, Sep 23, 2015 : The DK   district administration declared holiday for educational institutions in the district on Sept 24, Thursday on account of Bakrid. 

A notification from the  DK  Deputy Commissioner said that though the government had declared Bakrid holiday on Sept 25, Friday, the festival is celebrated in Dakshina Kannada on Sept 24, Thursday and hence, the revised holiday.
Schools and colleges, which had scheduled examinations on September 24, may postpone it to the next day or any other convenient day, the notification said.

In Udupi - On Sept 25, Friday

A report from Udupi states,    Udupi district will observe holiday for Bakrid on  Sept 25, Friday and not on Sept 24,  Thursday.   Government direction in the matter is being followed, according to Udupi DC  Dr. R. Vishal.
