Bajrang Dal stops screening of film ’Dilwale’ in the City

Mangaluru, Dec. 20: In a clear example to intolerance, the Bajrang Dal Activists raided theatres in the city and stopped the screening of Shah Rukh Khan’s latest movie ’Dilwale’ on Sunday December 20. Following the incident, screening of the movie was stopped in the theatres to avoid untoward calamity.

The film directed by Rohit Shetty is running in packed house through-out the country. The Bajarang Dal activists raided threatres in City Centre Mall, Forum Fiza Mall and Bharat Mall, forced the operators to stop the screening of the film.

The Bajrang Dal activists raided the theatres protesting against the statement of Shah Rukh Khan on ’intolerance’ in November.  He had said that “ intolerance is the worst kind of crime that you can do being a patriot’. In fact. he had retracted from it later and had apologized.

Bajrang Dal and VHP activist had demanded banning of films of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the country. Bajrang Dal Convenor Sharan Pumpwell said that they are stopping the screening of ‘Dilwale’ through-out the country in protest against the comment by Shah Rukh Khan
