Shobha told reporters prior to launching the campaign that muzrai temples in Karnataka earn crores by way of donation and revenue each year. The party has resorted to this form of protest against a recent state government’s move to stop financial aid to the schools.

The move to cancel financial aid to schools in Kalladka and Punacha is also reflective of the true concern that CM Siddaramaiah who considers himself to be an AHINDA icon to students who hail from this very community studying in the two schools. "His concern for AHINDA is limited to his speeches extolling the community," Shobha, also state BJP general secretary, noted. CM has also set out on a course of vendetta politics with this move to stop financial aid, she added.

Reminding CM that the Congress government in 2004 had directed muzrai temples to provide aid to schools in Jevargi, Huvinahadagalli, Holenarsipura and Kanakapura, Shobha said the JD(S)-BJP coalition government in 2007 had decided to provide Sri Rama High School and Sri Devi Vidya Kendra the same assistance. However, the current Congress government is playing politics with providing mid-day means to students and will cost the ruling party dearly, she said.
