Feb 27, 2017: Reports confirm that Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje stated that BJP workers would stage protests in front of the houses and offices of all Congress legislators in Dakshina Kannada on February 27, Monday today.

MP Karandlaje ...MP Karandlaje said the protest has been planned demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on moral grounds and his ministers, some of whom have been questioned by income tax sleuths in connection with the contents of a diary seized from the house of MLC Govindaraju during a raid. It is said to be mentioned in the diary that a huge cache of money was sent to S G Office (Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s office), R G (Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi) and also M Vora (Motilal Vora), she claimed.

Responding to a question on substantial evidence, if any, to prove that the initials mentioned in the diary were the names of Congress leaders, Karandlaje said it is widely known that M Vora means Motilal Vora, the treasurer of AICC. The balls are in the court of Congress party to clear the air over the names of those leaders that have cropped up following the revelations of the contents of the diary.

MP Karandlaje also claimed that two contractors who had ‘greased’ the palms of authorities towards bagging the controversial steel bridge project in Bengaluru have also revealed the names of some leaders before income tax sleuths. Amid this, Govindaraju, who is now claiming innocence over the contents in the diary, had himself written to IT sleuths and enforcement directorate (ED), just to enquire who gave the related information to B S Yeddyurappa, the state BJP president, she said.
