BJP stages protest against Tipu Jayanthi celebration

Mangaluru Nov 7, 2016: District BJP staged a protest outside DC Office on Monday November 7 against the state government’s decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi on November 10th. 

Addressing the protestors, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that from past one year people are unhappy over state government’s decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi as Tipu was  equal to a terrorist and had  attacked many people and had also forced them to convert to Islam. As Islam community does not encourage celebrating birthdays, celebrating Tipu Jayanthi is against Islam, he said. "Tipu is known for his atrocities on  Christian and Hindu community. Siddaramaiah can be depicted as a terrorist for his support to Tipu Sultan," he added.

 

 

"The much debated Tipu Jayanthi has claimed three lives in the state last year, there are several problems which  the state is facing, but  CM Siddaramaiah is  showing lack of concern towards the same and is busy involved in celebrating Tipu Jayanthi," said Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He also said that, Siddaramaiah will be directly blamed for any untoward incident during Tipu Jayanthi celebration. Siddaramaiah need to withdraw the decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi in order to maintain peace and harmony in  the state, he demanded.
