BJP stages black flag demo at Malpe ahead of Home Minister’s visit

Udupi, Nov 25, 2014:  Several members of the BJP and BJP Yuva Morcha staged a black flag demonstration  near the Malpe port gate shortly before  the arrival of State Home Minister KJ George for the  inaugural of the Coast Guard Administrative Office building here on November 25, Tuesday.

The protestors shouted slogans denouncing the home minister as well as  other state minsters Mahadeva Prasad, Qamarul Islam and Dinesh Gundu Rao  who are facing  land encroachment charges.

The police  rushed to the spot  and prevented the agitators from entering the port. The protestors were also detained and taken away from the spot. BJP leaders including Yashpal Suvarna, Gladys Almeida and Shymala Kunder participated in the protest.

Security has been tightened following the incident.
