Mangaluru, Oct 17, 2015: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has informed that the BJP will hold a huge protest in Mangaluru on October 20 demanding the arrest of the killers in the Prashanth Poojary murder case of Moodbidri.
Speaking to reporters here on October 16, Friday, Nalin claimed that Vaman (68), a petty shop owner close by Prashanth’s shop who was a witness to the murder and had allegedly committed suicide had received calls from Pakistan. He said Vaman’s family informed him about this.
"The family members of Vaman also stated that the caller spoke in Hindi," Nalin said and suspected a conspiracy behind the incident.
He also charged the police of complete failure to curb such attacks and claimed that at least seven Hindu youth have been attacked in a span of three months.
He further lashed out at Congress leaders for not condemning the incident and said the October 20 protest by BJP will be participated by several state level leaders including former CM Yeddyurappa, former deputy CM Eshwarappa, MP Shobha Karandlaje, and former ministers R Ashok and Suresh Kumar.
Pointing out that the BJP has set October 19 as the deadline for the arrest of the culprits failing which the protest will be held.
The Prashanth murder has made people panic, Nalin said and added the police department would have arrested the culprits by now had they evinced interest in the case.
