Noting that the nation in the five-odd months of BJP rule at the Centre is beginning to reap the results of party’s assertion of ensuring Good Days, ’Achche Din’ in the run up to polls, Karnik said various assurances given to people are being implemented to the delight of the common man. "Free availability of LPG cylinders, record reduction in prices of petrol and diesel in line with easing of global crude prices too have added to this feeling of Achche Din," he said.

On the other hand, maladministration in Congress ruled Karnataka with problems on myriad front is coming as a spoke in the wheel of the nation’s growth chart. All pro-people social security schemes initiated by previous BJP government in Karnataka have been put on the slow burner, he said, adding the BJP will take this up in the Belagavi session.

Presiding over the inaugural session, Pratapsimha Nayak, president of the district unit said the general elections has brought about a decisive shift in people’s preference for the BJP and the membership drive will seek to consolidate this gains further. "The campaign should be converted in to a people’s movement ahead of the impending polls to the panchayati raj bodies in the state," he said urging workers to push ahead and work for the betterment of Bharath.
