Bangalore, Feb 18, 2013 :The BJP’s national joint organising secretary V Satish held talks with former chief minister D V Sadananda (DVS) Gowda at the State party office for more than an hour on Monday, in a bid to placate him.

Gowda 1Gowda has been sulking for the last few weeks alleging that he has been sidelined by the party.

The former chief minister, according to sources close to him, is hurt that the State BJP top brass - including State party president K S Eshwarappa, deputy chief minister R Ashoka and National General Secretary Ananth Kumar - have been sidelining him.

By virtue of being the former State party chief, Gowda, as per the party constitution, becomes a member of the party core-committee. However, he is not being invited to the core-committee meetings, of late.

The differences between Gowda and the BJP top brass cropped up after Eshwarappa, Ashoka and Ananth Kumar thwarted the former’s chances of being appointed the State party president once again. In January this year, the party central leadership had almost finalised the name of Gowda for the post of party chief. Speaking to reporters, Gowda said he would not like to comments on internal developments in the party.
