Mangaluru, June 04, 2018: MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza has alleged that the BJP MLCs who are representing the South West Teachers and Graduates Constituency since the past 35 years, have failed to solve the problems of the constituencies.
Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on May 4, Monday, he exuded confidence that SP Dinesh and KK Manjunath Kumar who are Congress candidates from the Graduates and Teachers’ Constituencies respectively will win the elections. He also claimed he has worked much for the cause of the two constituencies despite not representing them.
Ivan alleged that the Narendra Modi government has failed to fulfil all promises made by it to the graduates. Referring to the 2 crore job promise made by Modi, he said not even 2 lakh jobs have been created. The previous Congress Government in the state has created 3.5 lakh job opportunities. The BJP has no right to seek vote, he said.
He also said he agreed with the high command decision to have HD Kumaraswamy as the CM for the full five-year term of the Congress-JD(S) coalition government.
Congress leaders Vishwas Kumar Das, Ashok D K, Asha D’Silva and others were present.
