Automobile Dealers’ Association Donates ECG Machines

Mangaluru, August 07, 2019: In an effort to reach out to the poor people living in rural areas, Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers’ Association has donated one ECG machine and three handheld portable machines for the CAD (Cardiology at Doorsteps) initiative spearheaded by Dr Padmanabh Kamath, HoD of Cardiology and Professor at KMC, Mangaluru. The total value of the donated medical equipment is Rs. 40,000/- Association President Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai handed over the equipment to Dr Padmanabh Kamath on Wednesday, August 07, 2019 in the presence of Members of the Managing Committee of the Association. CAD is a highly successful crusade against coronary artery disease.

It aims to provide free cardiac equipment in rural PHCs to enable early detection and quick response for cardiac cases, and thereby reduce casualties. The initiative is further supported with free cardiac consultation to the beneficiaries by Dr Padmanabh Kamath through WhatsApp network.

After accepting the donation of equipment, Dr Padmanabh Kamath expressed his gratitude to Sri Prabhakar Pai and his team members from Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers’ Association for their contribution to CAD project.
