Attempt to murder on Rahim Uchil in 2012: 2 convicted , 5 acquitted

Mangaluru, Aug 03, 2017: BJP learder and Ex-Beary Sahitya Academy President Rahim Uchil was attacked by a gang of seven with lethal weapons in Attavar on March 15, 2012.

 

As  per the reports Rahim Uchil   had supported Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat’s defamatory speech against Muslims which the  organisations had opposed . This provoked the accused to attack  Rahim with lethal weapons.

Mohammed Rafiq alias Appi (33), a resident of KC Road in Ullal and Abdul Basheer (31) of Surathkal have been convicted for four year imprisionment along with a fine of Rs 100000 under column 307. The five were booked under murder attempt case with  a six month imprisionment with a fine of Rs 10, 000 under column 326 IPC.
