Addressing pressing persons at the election office of the party at Kadri on May 8, soon after the assembly election results were announced,  Poojari urged  the newly elected representatives of the Congress to ensure good governance failing which they will meet the same fate as  that of the BJP.

He also cautioned that he himself would request the voters next time not to vote for the Congress if at all the party fails to provide good governance.

He said the visit of Sonia to Mangalore was fruitful as was evident  with the election results.  Poojari also stated that the much hyped visit of the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to Mangalore which was expected to help the BJP, has actually proved a gain for the Congress.  “I am thankful to the people of the coastal district for aptly rewarding Modi,” said Poojari.

Poojari once again took the opportunity to take a dig at Modi and said he had no credentials to be projected as the Prime Ministerial candidate.

He described the Congress victory in DK and  Udupi districts as a victory with a great margin and pointed out that in Sullia it lost by a low margin.

On this occasion, Poojari also congratulated  Halady Srinivas Shetty for his victory with a record margin in Kundapur.
