Speaking to reporters here on December 26, Saturday, Ashraf  alleged that the innocents who have been arrested  were being tortured and meted out third degree treatment. They were also fixed in other cases which the police have been unable to solve, he further complained.

Continuing, he said "police  have  arrested ten out of the total 17 persons who have been booked on charges of murder, while the murder was committed by only six people."

While making it clear that the guilty in such crimes should be punished, Ashraf said at the same time  fixing innocents was not acceptable and described this as a case of violation of human rights.

"Action need to be taken against police officials  for torturing the arrested and steps should be taken  for the immediate release of the  innocents who have been arrested," he demanded.

Tahul, the brother of one of the accused Mustafa Kavoor who was present at the press meet also accused the cops of trying to fix  Mustafa in false cases. "The police had asked the family to get Mustafa’s shirt, jacket and shoes just to fix him," he alleged.

Nawaz Ullal, Haneef and others were present at the press meet.
