Arun Jewellers theft case : Cops arrest 3 including 2 Afghan nationals

Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2019:  Police  have arrested three persons wanted in the Arun Jewellers theft case reported on the night of September 2. Of the arrested  two persons are of Afghan origin.

Those arrested are Mohammad Safi (45)  and Mihand Azim Khuram (25) both from Kabul. The third accused is Muthasimu  CM alias Taslim (39) from Kerala. He is said to be the mastermind behind the theft. Meanwhile police are on the lookout for two more accused including one from Kerala and another person from Afghanistan.

Police have recovered  gold bars weighing 2.753 grams from  them. In all jewellery worth Rs 9 lakh has been seized. As per the complaint lodged  3.43 kg of gold  costing Rs 1,02,95,270 and silver articles weighing 20.66 kg and costing Rs 9,11,600 were stolen from the  shop.

The arrests were made on September 24 and the accused  are presently in judicial custody.
