Speaking to reporters here on April 22, Monday, he said as water supply is stopped for a few days in a week as of now this may create further problems  following air lock in the water supply pipes. Pointing out that the Thumbay dam can now store water upto six meters as against four meters in the old dam, Lobo said as of now there is water upto a height of 5.2 meters. Excluding elevated areas water can be supplied to other places every day, he added.

He also urged the authorities to take steps to repair open wells and borewells in MCC limits.

"As the elected representatives of MCC no longer hold office, it is the MLA who is representing the area. Instead  of blaming the past corporators, he should take steps to supply water  continuously This is his responsibility,"  Lobo added

Former mayor Harinath who also addressed the press meet said the  MCC office will  be picketed if the problem is not solved and recalled how water was supplied daily when  there was water for only upto one meter height in 2016.

Another former mayor Shashidhar Hegde said an appeal would be made to the Deputy Commissioner to supply water daily.

Former mayor Mahabala Maarla,  Corporators Lancelot Pinto, Naveen D’Souza, and others were present.
