Mangaluru, Jan 6, 2017 : Gayatri Nayak, the Special Land Acquisition Officer of National Highways who was caught red handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths while accepting bribe on January 4, Wednesday, has been admitted to the Wenlock Hospital after she complained of giddiness and severe head ache. The officer was caught at the Mini Vidhana Saudha along with her office assistant Tukrappa.
Both of them were produced before the court on Wednesday evening itself. The two were even subjected to a medical examination wherein they were found to be fine and were later lodged in the district prison after the court remanded them to judicial custody.
Gayatri was rushed to Wenlock after she complained of giddiness.
The officer was arrested following a complaint from Yogish from Kasargod who alleged that she had demanded bribe from the Rs 17.5 lakh compensation he had received from the government. Yogish had also alleged that he had given her Rs 1.3 lakh.
Gayatri was earlier serving as the Tahsildar of Kundapur and was also handling the additional responsibility as Executive Officer of Pilikula Nisargadhama.
