Mangalore, Jan.9: The seventh annual Sri Krishna Balaram Rath Yatra began  on Saturday, January 9 at 5-30 pm from ISKON centre, Bunts hostel road culminated in Bunts hostel ground.

 


A typical Iskon chariot displaying Deities of Sri Krishna - Balaram, decorated with flowers and jewelries, was pulled by a congregation chanting prayers enthralled the crowd accompanying them.


Devotees from Kerala,Bangalore,Hubli,Hassan,Bellary,Mysore took part in the Ratha Yatra festival. The chariot was decorated elaborately with flowers and lighting.
Veda Gosha - recitation of verses describing the glories of  the Lord was continuously going on through out the procession.


The volunteers distributed ‘prasadam’(Puliyogare) to the people during the whole yatra. This traditional festival was a live experience of joyful life and spiritual excitement.

 



Dr.Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, RSS leader  inaugurated the Ratha Yatra festival . Sri Ajitkumar Rai Malady, chairman,Federation of world Bunts Assn. was the chief guest of the festival, Sri Sunder Shetty, secretary,Bunts Assn,,Mangalore were also present. The Program will be presided over by His Grace Madhu Pandit Dasa, President,ISKCON Bangalore & Chairman,The Akshaya Patra Foundation.
