Animal lovers! Gear up to have some elation at Pilikula this Sunday

Mangaluru: September 30, 2015: Pilikula Nisargadhama will hold an all-breed dog show, cat show, live snake demo, wildlife photography and frog exhibition to attract visitors to the Wildlife Week -2015 programme that will be observed on October 4.

Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim said that a dog show and cat show will be held at Pilikula Urban Haat. Pet lovers, who are interested to showcase their furry friends, may register between 1pm and 3pm. There will be no entry fee for registration and arrangements will be made for the administration of anti-rabies vaccine for free.

Wildlife photography and frog exhibition will be held at the exhibition hall 1 at Pilikula. Resource person Harish Joshi will demonstrate the varieties of frog specimen of Western Ghats during the exhibition. Resource person Charles Paul will display venomous and non-venomous snake varieties during the live snake demo programme at Urban Haat.

Stalls to showcase organic produces, fish varieties, aquariums and food court will be arranged during the programme, he said. A painting competition on the theme ’nature and wildlife’ will be organized. Those interested may send the paintings on a 12x18 inch canvas. Essay (not more than 1,500 words) and collage competition on nature and wildlife theme will be held for students. Mobile photography, spot painting, fancy dress and quiz competitions will also be held.
