Amit Shah, Rudy in Mangaluru for I-Day celebrations

Mangaluru, August 14, 2016: BJP national president Amit Shah and union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy will be in Mangaluru to take part in various programmes to be held under the aegis of party’s Dakshina Kannada district unit as part of the 70th Independence Day celebration. Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship (independent charge) Rajiv Pratap Rudy will participate in the 70th Independence Day celebrations of BJP district unit on August 15. Meanwhile, party chief Amit Shah will take part in various programmes in Mangaluru, Ullal and Konaje.

BJP DK district president Sanjeeva Matandoor said the party has planned various programmes in the district to celebrate 70th Independence Day as per directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tricolor will be unfurled at the party office in the city on August 15. Union minister Rudy will take part in the 70th Independence celebrations to be held at T V Ramana Pai auditorium on August 15 at 3pm. BJP Yuva Morcha workers will hold torch light procession in all constituencies of Dakshina Kannada district the same day, Sanjeeva said.

On Amit Shah’s visit, Sanjeeva said that the party president will arrive in the city in the wee hours on August 21. Shah will plant saplings near BJP office in the city and later flag off a ’Thiranga Yatra’ at Mahaveer Circle. He will take part in a programme to be held at Ullal in commemoration of freedom fighters, who died in the struggle for Independence. Later, Shah will take part in a party workers’ convention at Konaje, Sanjeeva said adding that a detailed itinerary will be released once the programme schedule is finalised.
