Amid Coronavirus fears, MCC comes up with advisory ; posters released

Mangaluru, Mar 18, 2020 : In view of Coronavirus fears, the Mangaluru City Corporation has  outlined measures to be taken by the general public, paying guest facilities, hostels, hotels, parks, gyms and  residential complexes. Copies of the informative posters  regarding the advisory of the Corporation were released by Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar on March 18, Wednesday  at the Mangala Auditorium of MCC. The posters were released  during an informative programme organised  for MCC members and staff  on the precautions to be taken in the wake of coronavirus  positive cases reported from the state.

Ward level awareness :  From  today onwards a team comprising the MCC executive engineer, revenue and health officials under the leadership of the  corporator of the respective ward would be making a door-to-door visit  to create awareness among the people,  informed MCC Joint Commissioner Dr Santosh Kumar.

Corporation Commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hegde gave information on the advisory issued by MCC.

Students  residing in paying guests and hostels should return to their  homes   and owners of hostels and PG  facilities have been asked to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

Hotels have  been asked to compulsorily provide hot water to the customers and the staff must  be wearing hand gloves and mask and maintain cleanliness. All surfaces must be cleaned regularly with disinfectants.

All activities in gyms, swimming  pools, entertainment clubs must  be  temporarily  suspended and all outdoor activities including summer camps  have been  banned.
