Alleged drunk driving ; car overturns after hitting road divider, electric poles

Udupi, Feb 26,2016 : A   car driver was lucky enough to escape with minor injuries  even after the car went out of his control and hit a divider and came to an abrupt halt, but not before rolling over  four times and hitting two electric poles near the Inox theatre at Manipal during the wee hours of  February 26, Friday. It is said the airbags in the Fortuner car saved the life of the youth.

 

 

The mishap occurred at around 2.30 am when the Fortuner car  driven by an MIT student hailing from Hyderabad was on way to Udupi from Manipal.  Both the electric poles  were razed to the ground due to the impact of the collision.

Sources said the youth who sustained minor injuries in his hand, had fled to his residence at Eshwarnagar  by another car soon after the mishap.
